our spring selection

We planned to announce our ‘celebrate spring’ prop selection and promotion earlier this week, but then tragedy struck. Our hearts go out to everyone in our community shaken by the Boston Marathon events. We’re all still processing this hardship together as we try to go back to our lives and our work. We are so proud to be in the business of helping people capture happy memories with their family, friends and loved ones.

Today we would like to share with you the beautiful spring images we have collected from the past few weeks to represent the latest props and backgrounds with which you can capture your own memories:

With Easter being only 9 days away, we wanted to post some adorable bunny photos from the past couple of weeks. The bunnies this year are cuter than ever and have been working very hard to bring smiles and laughter to all the children that have visited us so far! We are keeping our little friends for one week following Easter, so you still have time to book your session and join in on the fun!

Happy New Year!

With the holidays now behind us, we are looking forward to a great 2013 and lots of new, exciting things for everyone.

The first thing we are looking forward to is our LIVE BUNNIES!
Over the years, we have heard from many of our Portrait Simple families that coming into our studios for spring portraits with our bunnies has become a favorite tradition in many households. We have already been getting calls and emails asking when they would be arriving in our studios! Bunnies will be hopping in on Saturday, February 16th, 2013. Appointments with our favorite little friends fill quickly, so make sure your book yours soon. Its not too early!Easter2013

Last year we had a Bunny Naming Contest among all ten of our studio locations. The bunnies and their names were posted on our Facebook page and voted on by you! Stay tuned for this years bunnies and the creative names our photographers have come up with. Our studio in Westfarms, CT won last year with their Dr. Suess themed names!

2012 Holiday Props & Sets

With the official kick-off to the holiday season right around the corner (Veteran’s Day, to be exact) we thought we would share with you all the great things we have this year to accent your holiday portraits. Our selection this year is bigger and better than ever. Some are brand new, and some are tried and true and have remained your favorites throughout the years!
*please note: while we have all of these items in every location, the style and colors of each may vary!

Seasonal Colored Backgrounds
We change our colored backgrounds with the seasons, and for the holidays we opted for more neutral colors rather than the traditional reds and greens. Now you can have your images displayed all year long!

Santa Hats
This simple accent goes with any outfit and brings just the right amount of holiday spirit to your portraits.

Fireplace & Tree
A customer favorite over the years, these actual fireplaces and Christmas trees add a traditional touch to your holiday portraits.

Ornaments
Yet another customer favorite, using our ornaments to accent your holiday outfits looks great!

Holiday Gift Boxes
Similar to our ornaments, these are a fun and simple addition to your pictures.

Winter Apparel
Bundle Up! Our variety of winter hats, scarves, and mittens make your portraits feel extra warm and cozy.

Snow!
New this year, we have made a template that digitally adds snow to your image. You can be in a winter wonderland without stepping outside!

Santa Beard
For our older subjects, this shaving cream Santa beard brings out some really great expressions. They think its hilarious!

Elf Hats
We have a variety of hand knit holiday hats for you to use. Paired with just a simple diaper cover, your child can become Santa’s Little Helper for the day!

Snowflakes
This is another simple accent that has been a dependable favorite over the years. We can use them in a variety of ways, and they add a very classic touch to your portraits.

Fall Leaves
Not ready for snowflakes and winter hats? These fall leaves are a perfect way for you to hold onto that last bit of fall.

Footballs, etc
With the NFL season in full swing, we have stocked our studios with footballs, team jerseys, and our newest addition to our sports line-hand knit football hats and diaper covers!

Baby Stocking
There isn’t much cuter than wrapping your little bundle of joy in a stocking this holiday season!

Glitter Wall
Another one of our customer favorites, the glitter wall is perfect for any age!

Big Gift Boxes
Another new addition this year, these fun gift boxes are already shaping up to be a customer favorite!

Holiday Wreaths
We have a variety of holiday wreaths in our studios that can be used in many different ways. Perfect for framing little faces!

Hanukkah Props
We also stock our studios with dreidels, menorahs, and other simple items representative of the holiday. These items work perfectly with the variety of Hanukkah cards we offer!

Once the season kicks off, our studios book appointments quickly, so be sure to call your local studio to set up your holiday portraits soon! We look forward to seeing you!

Smile for a Cure Portrait Contest: 2012 Finalists!

Each summer, we run an annual portrait contest called Smile for a Cure to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For a $5 donation, you get a free 5×7 and a chance to enter your child’s portrait in one of the 3 age groups in our contest (babies, toddlers, and big kids).

This July, $3,500 was raised for this wonderful cause. A big “thank you!” to all who entered!

Our judges have selected the top image per studio in each category, totaling in 30 finalists. All will receive a gift card to Portrait Simple for at least $100. If they make it to the top 3, they’ll win a $500 or $1,000 gift card instead!

Now it’s up to YOU to select the final three! Online voting is open now through Monday, September 24, 2012. One vote is allowed per household. Once voting is closed, and the top three are determined, the panel of judges will rank them, choosing a first and second runner up, as well as a Grand Prize Winner.

CLICK HERE TO PLACE YOUR VOTE!

Good luck to all the finalists!

Adoption events in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York

Pet Month is rolling right along and we’ve had quite a few successful Meet & Greets already. This weekend, it’s time for our Chestnut Hill (previously Atrium), Rockingham Park, Eastview, and Trumbull studios to shine!

In case you haven’t heard, our studio in the Atrium Mall has closed and reopened across the street at Chestnut Hill:

If you usually come via Route 9 Eastbound, just take the turnaround immediately following the Atrium and Chestnut Hill will be your first exit on the right. If you follow Route 9 West, Chestnut Hill will be on your right. Atrium is on the corner of Route 9 (Boylston St) and Florence Street. Chestnut Hill is slightly east on the opposite side of Route 9.
